Seema

Founding Member

Seema’s transition from a city girl to serving for rural communities was driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the well-being of marginalized populations. Inspired by her husband Krishna Prasad’s, vision and the organization’s mission, Seema embraced a new way of life centred around service and social responsibility. Despite the initial challenges and adjustments, she found fulfillment in connecting with rural communities and working towards their empowerment.
Recognizing the importance of traditional seeds in ensuring food security, ecological resilience, and cultural heritage, she as a State Coordinator actively involved in initiatives of Save our rice campaign to safeguard and promote indigenous paddy varieties.

As the founder of Krishikala, Seema is committed to safeguarding lost bottle gourd varieties that are at risk of extinction due to changing agricultural practices and urbanization. Through Krishikala, she is promoting eco-friendly artifacts made from bottle gourds as sustainable alternatives to hazardous plastics. Seema empowers rural communities by providing training, technical assistance, and market access to artisans and farmers involved in bottle gourd cultivation and craftsmanship.
